3 More Myths That Could Hurt Your Construction Accident Recovery

You've never had any reason to doubt your employer before. You've always been paid on time for your work in Fort Lee construction projects and you've never had a problem. Yet, there may be things that you are hearing now from your employer, your employer's insurer, or your employer's attorney that aren't sitting well with you.

Are They True?

That depends, of course, on exactly what is said. However, we encourage you to be cautious about certain statements such as:

  • You'll be better off just coming back to work. Your medical condition must be assessed by a doctor. If your doctor believes that returning to your Fort Lee construction job could jeopardize your recovery then you shouldn't do it.
  • Just take the money I'm offering you because you'll never do better. This is often untrue. Your employer, or his representative, knows that there is an advantage to getting you to settle quickly before you know the full extent of your injuries. You should not accept a settlement without knowing all of your rights.
  • If you contact a lawyer then things will get ugly. The opposite may be true instead. Your attorney may keep things from getting "ugly" by focusing on the right issues with the appropriate evidence.

These statements are simply myths that your employer, or his representative, wants you to believe. They are not necessarily true.

You Deserve the Truth
