A: Recently the New York City’s building commissioner announced that the old construction scaffoldings will be replaced by new, more attractive scaffolding. The first of the new scaffolding was unveiled in front of 100 Broadway last month.
Instead of plywood and pipes, scaffolding will now be made from recycled steel and translucent plastic in a design that resembles an umbrella. However, while the design is significantly changed, the purpose of protective scaffolding remains the same as it did more than 100 years ago when scaffolding was first required in New York City. That purpose is to protect you from New York City construction accidents.
If the new, prettier scaffolding fails to do its job and you are hurt by debris from a construction site, then it is important to contact a New York construction accident lawyer. Your New York construction accident attorney will review the cause of your accident and advise you of your rights.
If the scaffolding was negligently constructed or if another form of negligence on the part of the property owner, manager or workers causes your construction accident injury, then you may have the right to recover damages.
