Luckily, the MTA has built in a safety net that protects passengers and workers if a signal is malfunctioning. Specifically, trains react to malfunctioning signals as they do to red lights, and the train is stopped. However, this safety net is not foolproof, and it does not make the jobs of MTA subway signal inspectors any less important. As New York railroad lawyers, we believe that it is important for MTA workers, their families, and the public to be aware of the potential dangers of subway accidents.New York Office of Hofmann & Schweitzer
