In Ocean City, Md. the Coast Guard rescued a 17 year old girl after she was hit by a personal watercraft wednesday in the Sinepuxent Bay. The girl fell off the watercraft and a second personal watercraft hit her.
A Station Ocean City 21-foot response boat crew arrived on scene at 8:09 p.m., rescued the girl and took her to a nearby dock. A Maryland State Police Trooper 4 helicopter crew then transported her to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
She sustained head and neck injuries.
With warm weather boating accidents increase and unfortunately become an every day occurrence. Boating Safety courses are mandatory requirements in many states. They help to prevent accidents.
If you have been injured in a boating accident you may have legal rights under maritime law. Contact Hofmann & Schweitzer with any legal questions you may have.
