Should I hire a Public Adjustor?

A comment was made to a blog regarding hiring a public insurance adjuster to work things out for you. Although the idea sounds good it is not the best route to take. The time spent trying to work out a fair settlement is time that could have been spent preparing your case for trial. Insurance adjustors will usually "low ball" a claim and try to get you to settle for a fraction of what your case may be worth. A good attorney will prepare your case for trial and hire the best experts to evaluate your claim. When a insurance adjustors sees that you are serious they will then offer you the true value of your claim. Insurance adjustors tell claimants to not hire an attorney because they want to control the handling of the claim. This buys them time to talk to witnesses and the doctors to minimize your claim. Hiring a public adjustor also is good for the insurance company because they are not concerned about a trial. The laws are complicated and the delay in filing a lawsuit could be damaging to your claim.
