Fatal New Jersey Construction Accident on Garden State Parkway

A construction worker was hit by a car and killed in a New Jersey construction accident in the early morning hours of Thursday February 17, 2011.  The accident happened at the overpass for Exit 154 on the Garden State Parkway, just south of Route 46 in Clifton.

The construction worker who was killed has been identified as 44-year-old Albert Marques of West Brighton, New York.  Mr. Marques was working for JM Sanzari Construction Company which is based in Hackensack.  He was pronounced dead at approximately 2:15 a.m. at the scene of the crash.

According to the New Jersey State Police, the left lane of the Garden State was closed for construction, and the accident occurred in the center lane. The driver of the car who hit Mr. Marques has been identified as 48-year-old Jasper Lymon, Jr. of Irvington, New Jersey.  Mr. Lymon was driving a green Chevrolet minivan northbound on the Garden State at the time of the fatal crash.  Police report that Mr. Lymon stopped at the scene of the accident and that no charges have been filed, as the investigation of this New Jersey construction accident is ongoing.
