New Jersey Construction Worker Dies in Work Related Accident

On Saturday, November 13, 2010, a construction worker working in West Caldwell, New Jersey, fell to his death.  The 43 year old construction worker from Rockaway has been identified as Richard Peter DeMary. 

Mr. DeMary was working on the roof of VitaQuest International on Henderson Drive in West Caldwell when he fell through a skylight.  The accident happened around 1:45 p.m.  Officers found Mr. DeMary in the boiler room and performed CPR.  The West Essex First Aid Squad quickly arrived on the scene, and an ambulance took Mr. Demary to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson where he was pronounced dead around 2:30 p.m.

Mr. DeMary was employed by Dunrite, LLC, based in Newark, New Jersey.  The cause of this fatal New Jersey construction accident has not yet been released.    The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) confirms that it is investigating the accident.

Mr. DeMary is survived by his wife Lisa; his children Richard, Gabriella, and Frankie; his parents; and siblings.  We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers following this tragic construction fatality.
