Senate vote on the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors, or Dream, Act:

The debate on immigration as it affects our economy and unemployment is complex.  While we take no position on the politics of the Dream Act, we thought that the analysis by the current United States Secretary of Labor about what could be the benefit of the Dream Act should be considered.  Would passage be a reward for illegal behavior, or would passage be recognition that the youngsters involved should not be caused to suffer for the sins of their parents?

While a complex issue, the fact is that we are talking about illegal people, people that are breaking the law of the US.

I don't like to see anyone struggle through life, I also like people to follow valid laws.

I agree with the initial premise that this is a complex issue. One the one hand, I hate that people are "illegal" and being protected and give a lot of right under the same laws they are breaking.

On the other hand, who am I (or any of us) to decide that people don't deserve a chance to improve their position in life.
