4 New Jersey Train Accidents in 11 Days

April 2011 has been a dangerous month for the New Jersey Coast Line. According to news reports, there have been four accidents involving New Jersey Coast Line trains in just 11 days. Two people were killed and two were injured in these crashes. Since 2008, six people have died on New Jersey Coast Line tracks.

The most recent four New Jersey train accidents on the New Jersey Coast Line include:

  1. An accident near the intersection of Memorial Drive and Cedar Avenue in Asbury Park where a pedestrian was allegedly on the tracks and suffered a non-life threatening injury to her hand.
  2. An accident in Spring Lake where the driver of a car was killed after the train hit her vehicle that was on the tracks.
  3. An accident near Chelsea Avenue in Long Branch when a 17-year-old was struck and killed by a train.
  4. An accident near Cedar Avenue in Long Branch when a 15-year-old was injured by a train while walking on the train tracks.
