CONSTRUCTION INJURIES REPORTED
An operating engineer at the World Trade Center reconstruction site was recently seriously injured when a treaded rock excavator rolled up his leg, leading to gangrene in the extremity. The machine was damaged several times and faulty repairs are being blamed as a factor in the injury. Tishman Construction and Tutor Perini are involved in the excavation work in the #1and 9 box area.
A dockbuilder working at the World Trade Center reconstruction site has sustained serious back injuries as a result of literally being ‘stuck in the mud’ at the base of the multi-acre project. It was almost like being in quicksand to the injured worker, who literally had to be pulled out of the mud that engulfed the worker involved in drilling for tie backs at the site.
