Ironworkers without Fall Protection Fall to their Deaths in Manhattan

Two ironworkers who fell to their deaths at a Manhattan renovation project February 8 reportedly had been standing on a beam that moved "unexpectedly".

The two workers, Brett McEnroe and Roy Powell, were employees of Cross County Contracting, located in Pine Bush, N.Y. Reportedly they were installing steel in an elevator shaft at 150 West 83rd Street on the fifth level of a garage being converted into a recreation building for a local church. The project general contractor is F.J. Sciame

The City and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigating the accident.

Our condolences go out to the families of these hard-working construction workers.
