Posted on Mar 28, 2011

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011, a tractor trailer truck driven by 57-year-old Anthony Eddy of Ontario, Canada got stuck on train tracks in Tioga County, New York. Mr. Eddy was driving a truck that belonged to Revilo Transit of Ontario, Canada and was delivering goods to Hagen Pet Goods in Barton, New York.

It is currently unclear what caused Mr. Eddy's truck to get stuck on the train tracks in Barton, New York. However, the truck did become stuck, and New York State Police report that Mr. Eddy's truck was hit by a train while caught on the tracks. According to the State Police in Oswego who are continuing to investigate this New York train crash, the train was a Norfolk Southern train.

Mr. Eddy was injured in the accident and was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania for treatment. There were no injuries reported to any railroad personnel, or anyone else, in this crash. The train sustained only minor damage, and it is unclear how damaged the tractor trailer was after the impact.
We extend our best wishes for a quick and complete recovery to Anthony Eddy following this New York train accident.
