Nicole Vera is an associate attorney at Hofmann & Schweitzer, where she represents clients in a variety of personal injury litigation. Her relationship with the firm began in 2012, when she worked as a freelance journalist while pursuing her undergraduate studies at Florida International University. Drawn to the legal field, Ms. Vera continued her work with the firm as a law clerk throughout law school.

During law school, Ms. Vera was a full-time member of the Trial Team, an honors organization recognized nationwide for its excellence in advocacy. She competed in the National ABA Competition.  As a law student, Ms. Vera was granted Certified Legal Intern (CLI) status by The Florida Bar, which allowed her to represent clients under supervision. She gained hands-on litigation experience at several public criminal defense offices across South Florida. At the Broward Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, she assisted in hearings, interviewed clients, prepared motions, and reviewed evidence. She also worked at the Broward Public Defender’s Office, then the Miami Public Defender’s Office.  Her dedication and performance ultimately earned her a highly competitive position as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County.

After earning her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law and passing the Florida Bar, Ms. Vera began her career as a Miami-Dade Assistant Public Defender, where she represented indigent clients in a wide range of criminal matters. She gained substantial courtroom experience through trials, hearings, depositions, and daily motion practice. Her time as a public defender strengthened her commitment to advocacy and deepened her dedication to serving individuals in need.

In 2023, Ms. Vera returned to Hofmann & Schweitzer to continue her passion for helping injured workers and accident victims. She works closely with founding partners Paul T. Hofmann and Timothy F. Schweitzer to provide comprehensive legal representation to clients facing significant physical, emotional, psychological and financial challenges.

Ms. Vera is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York, and New Jersey. She is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.
