We know that union maritime and construction workers are the best trained, most safe and most efficient workers in the U.S. Here at Hofmann & Schweitzer, we are extremely happy to announce that on May 5th, 2022, a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) between North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) and Ørsted, the Denmark based renewable energy company, was reached which ensures the use of an American union workforce during the construction of the company’s U.S. offshore wind farms.
This agreement has been authorized by 15 International Union Presidents and their local affiliates. This PLA, known as the National Offshore Wind Agreement (NOWA), sets the standards for working conditions and equity. Coverage provided by the PLA applies to each of the estimated 80,000 newly employed workers during the development and construction of necessary infrastructure and offshore turbine farms.
The firm of Hofmann and Schweitzer are available for representation on behalf of any person(s) who incur injury as a result of failure to comply to the safety standards set by the PLA. At Hofmann & Schweitzer, we will continue to update you on the status of where and when these excellent construction and maritime job opportunities in the wind energy development field will occur. We will be there for the needs of labor if disaster strikes you and your family.
